Connecting science, care and community
University outreach is one of the cornerstones of public universities and one of the pillars that underpin the work of CePI-POCUS.
Through it, we bring scientific knowledge closer to society, transforming technological innovation into concrete actions with social impact that strengthen the role of healthcare professionals in Brazil as key players in care, education, and science.
Actions that transform
The CePI-POCUS develops community outreach projects, events, courses, workshops, and interprofessional collaborations that bring point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) closer to clinical practice, the community, and healthcare services.
These initiatives contribute to:
- Promote the ethical and safe use of health technologies.
- Strengthening the clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills of professionals.
- and reduce inequalities in access to innovation, especially in vulnerable contexts.
Scientific culture and social education
By integrating teaching, research, and outreach, CePI-POCUS reaffirms its commitment to the National Curriculum Guidelines, which prioritize the training of critical and reflective professionals committed to the Unified Health System (SUS) and social transformation.
Our outreach activities:
- They promote student and teacher leadership.
- They strengthen continuing health education.
- They increase the visibility of science produced in the country.
PoCUS Beyond the Walls
We believe that science must transcend boundaries: physical, institutional, and disciplinary.
Therefore, our outreach activities also promote accessible science communication, international cooperation, and dialogue among universities, health services, and society.
CePI-POCUS is, therefore, a meeting point between knowledge and practice, where technology becomes a tool for equity, empathy, and human transformation.
